Earn on this platform
How earning works on WordPress
How do you earn on WordPress?
Earn through paid newsletters, memberships, sales, services, or eligible advertising. Example: 50 readers × $5/month = $250 gross before fees. WordPress.com and self-hosted sites use different payment setups.
Follow these steps
Identify your site setup
Check whether your site is hosted on WordPress.com or is self-hosted. The dashboard paths below describe WordPress.com; self-hosted sites need a suitable membership or payment plugin.
Create a paid newsletter tier
On WordPress.com, open Jetpack → Monetize → Payment Settings. Connect Stripe, open Payment plans → Add a new payment plan, enable Paid newsletter tier, and set the price.
Define and publish paid value
Explain the newsletter’s topic and delivery schedule. Use the newsletter access settings or Paywall block to separate free previews from subscriber-only content.
Test the reader journey
Preview the public signup and paid-content access. Confirm that the price and cancellation terms are clear; review your plan’s payment fees and Stripe availability before launch.
Receive your payment
Review subscription revenue under Jetpack → Monetize and payout status in Stripe. WordAds has a separate eligibility and payout process.
USD examples illustrate gross revenue, not promised earnings. Fees, eligibility, and payout terms vary by account and country. Payments come from the platform or your customer, not Heavenly.
