How earning works on YouTube Shorts
Monetization process

How do you earn on YouTube Shorts?

Eligible creators keep 45% of their allocated Shorts Creator Pool revenue. There is no fixed dollar rate per view. Estimate earnings: eligible views ÷ 1,000 × your channel’s observed Shorts RPM.

Follow these steps

  1. Become eligible for ad revenue

Reach 1,000 subscribers and either 10 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days or 4,000 qualified public watch hours in 12 months. Follow YPP policies and check country availability.

  2. Apply and connect payments

Apply in YouTube Studio → Earn, accept the terms, and link AdSense for YouTube. YouTube reviews your channel.

  3. Accept the Shorts module

Accept the Shorts Monetization Module. Views before acceptance are not paid retroactively; reused content and ineligible views do not qualify.

  4. Read your actual earnings

Use YouTube Studio → Analytics → Revenue to see Shorts revenue and RPM. Check the current linked policy when estimating income.

  5. Receive your payment

Finish identity, address, tax, and bank details in AdSense. Earnings normally finalize on the 7th–12th; eligible payments issue on the 21st–26th after thresholds and holds are cleared.

USD examples illustrate gross revenue, not promised earnings. Fees, eligibility, and payout terms vary by account and country. Payments come from the platform or your customer, not Heavenly.
